DataFax CRF Annotation Tool

Thorin is currently beta-testing its CRF Annotation tool. This tool will allow DataFax client to generate a fully Annotated CRF. Some of the features are:

Automatically generate DataFax annotated CRF
Includes Bookmarks to Visits/Pages/Plates
Specify settings for colouring Required/Optional fields
Include/Exclude DataFax Field number
Either annotate full CRF or only Unique Plates

During beta-testing, we will provide this as a FREE OF CHARGE service. . That is, you can send us the relevant files and we will return the Annotated CRF. During this testing phase, we are happy to see if we can include any additional requirements. As we want to collect as much experience as possible, every first Annotated CRF (of each client) will be free of charge. If you require any additional CRFs to be annotated, we will charge US $ 350 per CRF (or € 250 for European clients). Once the tool is robust enough to handle different types of studies, the software will be released as stand-alone tool.

The Annotation program can either annotate only the Unique pages (= Plates). However, as required by the FDA, it is just as easy to create an DataFax Annotated CRF of the full CRF.
We call it a DataFax Annotated CRF as it contains some essential information from DataFax, like:

Variable Name is preceded by the DataFax Fieldno, so it is easier to check if you have specified the correct Field order
Fields are Colour coded: Red = Required; Blue = Optional. Although this feature is now also available in DataFax Setup version 3.9., this feature has always been an important quality check at Thorin: No Setup was ever released without a visual inspection of the Annotated CRF.
