Edit Check Programming
A key role in the validation process of your clinical study data is played by the Query process, making sure that when you close a study, all of its data will comply with your Data Validation Plan. In this process, the Edit Checks will ensure that Queries will be raised whenever the clinical data do not meet the requirements.
Especially when sites are using EDC, a careful review of the Edit Check process becomes essential. Thorin can assist you both in the design phase of creating your Data Validation Plan, as well as in the actual programming of the Edit Checks.
Thorin has developed a rather unique method to program AND test Edit Checks. All of our Edit Checks are programmed in an external application. As part of this process, test data is allocated to each individual Edit Check, thus allowing a repeatable and standardized testing procedure. Whenever Edit Checks are delivered, not only the Edit Check Validation report is included, but also the actual test data, allowing you as a client to update or review our internal testing procedures.
More information on our Edit Check Validation process can be found in a presentation held at the DataFax User Group meeting in 2006.
