Paper CRF

For sites which prefer to use paper CRFs, DataFax allows different methods to collect the CRFs from the site. CRFs can be transmitted by a standard fax machine, either directly to faxmodems connected to the DataFax server, or by transmissions to a Fax service provider, like ‘MyFax’. The DataFax server will then retrieve the CRF pages from the service provider.

Alternatively, the CRF pages can be scanned and transmitted as e-mail. DataFax will receive the e-mail attachment and automatically start processing the CRF pages.

Whichever method is being used, DataFax will always store an electronic copy of the CRF image on its server and use OCR to create a database record. So a copy of the CRF page as it resides at the side will always be available to everybody which has been granted access, like a Data Manager, Biostats, the Sponsor, or a local monitor at a site visit.
